Pregnant Kate Middleton: Top designers including Karl Lagerfeld sketch maternity dresses for Duchess
Kate Middleton already has one of the best-dressed bumps around. Her ability
to recycle and perfectly mix high-street with couture established her
place as a fashion favourite some time ago, and in the last few months
she has been praised for her elegant maternity choices.
Now that
the pregnant royal is really starting to show, some of the biggest
names in the industry — no doubt itching to dress her growing tummy —
have sketched suitable designs for the Duchess
Among
those submitting their maternity ideas to style website WWD are Karl Lagerfeld, Nina Ricci, Donna Karen, Vera Wang and French fashion house Chloé.
German Chanel designer Karl, 77, has imagined a beautiful
long-sleeved blue dress with a plunging neckline for Kate, while Donna
opted for an elegant evening gown, perfect for a official evening
outing.
"Kate Middleton is elegant, sensual, timeless," the
American designer wrote in her accompanying caption. "This is a dress
she could wear forever, during and after her pregnancy."
Chloe
presented a summery ruffled peach frock, while Nina Ricci sketched a
floral stretch silk printed crepe dress with black silk detailing.
So
far, Kate seems to have stayed away from maternity wear, opting instead
for loose-fitting clothing in her wardrobe — she recently recycled a
black and white polka dot dress by high street favorites Topshop. Now
though, with her beautiful bump growing ever bigger, perhaps she will
consider stepping out in some of these latest fashion recommendations
